On August 28, 2017, a little more than 1,200 freshman and sophomore students entered the halls of the newly constructed Bridgeland High School. Now, almost three years later, the first class to toss their caps will be graduating this May – forever to be known as the class of 2020. The 573,000 square-foot building that’s part of Bridgeland’s multi-educational campus located on Mason Road, currently supports more than 200 teachers who instruct approximately 3,300 students daily.

The timing seemed fitting for Bridgeland’s developer, The Howard Hughes Corporation, to launch its scholarship program to the school’s first graduating class. The annual scholarship program will award two deserving Bridgeland High School seniors with a $2,500 scholarship.

Any graduating Bridgeland High School senior, who is a U.S. citizen and planning to attend a two- or four-year accredited college or university is eligible to enter. Students can download the application from the school’s website or by visiting the application page at bridgeland.com.

On the 2018-2019 school report card, Bridgeland High School received an accountability rating of an ‘A’ by the Texas Education Agency for exemplary performance encouraging high academic achievement and preparing students for success after high school, among other achievements. The Howard Hughes Corporation is pleased to offer this financial award to students who are striving to attain goals and pushing themselves to be their very best.

The deadline for submission is 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2020. A scholarship selection committee will choose the two winners and they will be announced at the school’s Awards Night taking place May 11, 2020.
