Since 2016, Bridgeland’s yearly Fun Run/Walk for Heroes has been hosted by The Bridgeland Community Supports Veterans Inc (TBCSVI). The community group has worked tirelessly to support resident and area veterans and to honor the service of current and former military men and women– all of whom are heroes.
This year’s event will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, and begins at Festival Park in Lakeland Village. Offering you a chance to run your personal best, it’s an opportunity to get some exercise and fresh air while spending time with family and neighbors. Participants can choose from a timed 10K run or 5K run or walk, both beginning at 8 a.m. A children’s 1K run around a portion of Lake Bridgeland will begin at 9 a.m. Encouraging young families to participate, the children’s walk is the only race open to strollers and wagons. Booth vendors, entertainment, and plenty of activities for children will also be available for a morning full of fun.
The top three male and female runners in the 10K and 5K races will be awarded trophies. All children participating in the 1K run/walk will receive a medal & a goodie bag with the first-place finishing boy and girl in the 1K race receiving an award.
Registration on Eventbrite is open until Thursday, October 10 at 5 p.m. Entry fees vary between $20 and $40, depending on the race you select. You can save $5 off each entry by registering before August 7 when the Early Bird registration closes. Walk-up registrants will incur an additional fee. Bridgeland’s Veterans Fun Run/Walk for Heroes is a rain or shine event.
Pick up race packets from 12 – 7 p.m. on Friday, October 11 at the pavilion at Festival Park located across from Lakeland Activity Center at 16902 Bridgeland Landing Drive or at 7 a.m. before the race on Saturday, October 12.
Is there a veteran or active service member you would like to honor? Be sure to add their name and rank when registering. The Bridgeland Community Supports Veterans, Inc. group will create signs displaying the names of military heroes along the race route.
