The Cypress area is growing by leaps and bounds and educational institutions in our area are experiencing the same accelerated growth. Cypress Christian School, which is rapidly outgrowing its current site, will be building a new educational campus and moving to Bridgeland. For parents seeking a nearby private Christian education for their children, their prayers have been answered.
With limited space to accommodate more growth in their current location, Cypress Christian School recognized Prairieland Village as the bridge to their future. A kindergarten through grade 12 institution, Cypress Christian School was recently awarded the prestigious 4A Henderson Cup by the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools. This highly acclaimed school joins some of the state’s highest-rated schools by the Texas Education Agency: Cy-Fair Independent School District’s Bridgeland High School, Pope Elementary, and Wells Elementary. Currently under construction are a middle school, which will complete Bridgeland’s educational campus, and a yet-to-be-named elementary school in Parkland Village. Waller Independent School District has also secured a parcel of land to build a future elementary school in Prairieland Village.
“Bridgeland is home to acclaimed schools, with a strong educational legacy that has been built over 15 years,” said Heath Melton, a regional president for The Howard Hughes Corporation. “As one of the top-selling master planned communities in Texas, the number of families choosing to live in Bridgeland is rapidly growing and high-quality schools help drive that success. Cypress Christian School will be a welcome addition to the number of academic offerings available to Bridgeland residents.”
Specialized instruction, award-winning fine arts programs and championship athletics have helped to propel Cypress Christian School to be one of the top private institutions, both in the state of Texas, and in the nation. The Prairieland location will allow the sought-after school to grow in stages as it continues providing college preparatory education rooted in excellence and biblical values.
A modern, 130,000 square-foot state-of-the-art facility incorporates numerous windows allowing natural light to fill the interior. Designed by Studio Red Architects, the same architectural firm that created Dragonfly Park amenity center and future Prairieland amenity center, the school will blend cohesively with other architecture found within the village.
In addition to an elementary, middle and high school that will serve 1,000 students and over 100 staff members, the new campus will offer a dedicated space for fine arts instruction. An expanded athletic facility will include football, softball, and baseball fields, practice fields and a domed space for indoor training.
The addition of Cypress Christian School will strengthen educational opportunities, reinforcing Bridgeland’s commitment to educational excellence. More information about the school can be found here. Cypress Christian School in Prairieland Village will be located at the intersection of Prairieland Creek Drive and Bridgeland Creek Parkway. The school’s opening is projected for 2025.
