It’s the middle of the week and you’re looking for a quick and tasty dinner. How about pizza? But where can you find a good Italian pizza? One with a crispy airy crust, just the right amount of sauce and cheese combined with a sprinkle of oregano. The answer will soon be Russo’s New York Pizzeria & Italian Kitchen at Lakeland Village Center. How soon? How does this fall sound? Mmmm, you can almost smell the aroma.
Russo’s uses hand-tossed dough, sauce made from fresh-crushed California tomatoes, and imported Italian cheese blends. In addition to pizza, Russo’s will offer a menu chock-full of authentic Italian cuisine including pastas, calzones, and specialty items such as chicken piccata, eggplant parmesan and more, all made with fresh ingredients from traditional family recipes. Russo’s will also offer catering for special events for your family or office for parties large and small.
“The quality and experience of dining at Russo’s New York Pizzeria & Italian Kitchen is second to none, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to add another quality eatery to Lakeland Village Center,” said Kellie Forman, Senior Vice President, Leasing for The Howard Hughes Corporation. “The expertly crafted pizza, pastas, and family-friendly atmosphere make it a perfect fit for Bridgeland, and we are waiting in anticipation for the doors to open so we can grab a New York-style slice.”
Anthony Russo is a New Jersey native. He’s the son of first-generation Italian immigrants and was a young boy when the family moved to Galveston in 1978. His family opened what became a local favorite there, Russo’s Italian Kitchen. By the time he was 12, he was learning to cook the family’s recipes from relatives who visited from Italy, and now he’s bringing what was handed down through generations to Lakeland Village Center. The pizza is as authentic as it gets. Now a franchise in over 40 locations, Chef Anthony Russo opened the first Russo’s New York Pizzeria & Italian Kitchen in downtown Houston in 1992. You can find other Russo’s locations throughout east Texas and Austin, Oklahoma, California, Florida, and even overseas in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
‘Mange Bene’ is a phrase Russo keeps in mind when preparing each authentic recipe. Understanding the connection that happens when families eat well, conversing with each other at the dining table makes Russo’s a perfect fit for Bridgeland. Those who visit Russo’s will surely find a tasty and savory meal made from recipes passed from one generation in his family to the next. Every guest will be drawn to the warm welcome and respect given to every customer and employee.
“The growth of Bridgeland made this new location very attractive to us,” said Chef Anthony Russo, who will be running the new Bridgeland location. “We are confident that new and return customers will enjoy the recipes my family passed along and will appreciate the legacy that we are honoring with each dish. We invite Bridgeland residents and others from surrounding communities to eat well at Russo’s New York Pizzeria & Italian Kitchen.”
Russo’s joins a growing list of retailers at Bridgeland’s Lakeland Village Center and will soon be your go-to place for New York-style pizza and traditional Italian favorites. Located at 10615 Fry Rd., Suite B1-600, it’s estimated to open in October 2021.
