The Farmers Market at Bridgeland will offer a spring gardening class, in-season
produce and live music from Grifters & Shills during its monthly Farmers Market on March 12.
The spring gardening class will be presented by Ready to Grow Gardens. Owner Stephanie Baker will demonstrate how Houston residents can get their growing beds ready for the new planting season. Baker will focus on what is needed to plant and grow tomatoes, peppers and herbs. The class, designed for all ages, will begin at 1 p.m.
This month’s Farmers Market at Bridgeland will include fresh produce including beets, cabbage, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, kale, spinach, Swiss chard, Green English Peas, sugar snap peas, lettuce, collards, cucumbers, tomatoes, zucchini, yellow squash, spaghetti squash, butternut squash, radishes, peppers, onions, red potatoes and sweet potatoes.
In addition to the produce, free-range eggs, breads and sweet treats will be available. Meats including beef, pork, bison, venison and wild boar will also be available as will coffees, teas, ready-to-eat foods, jams, jellies and much more.
The rain-or-shine-Farmers Market will take place from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the parking lot adjacent to the Lakeland Activity Center, located at 16902 Bridgeland Landing in Cypress.
