Bridgeland is pleased to announce a new Realtor recognition program – Spotlight Realtor of the Month. Real estate agents are an integral part of the homebuying process and recognizing superstar Realtors can be a helpful tool in connecting agents with families that are buying and selling a home.
Each month, we will showcase one Realtor who has had the most success in Bridgeland during that month and feature them. January’s winner is Melissa Land and we took a few moments to sit down with her and learn a little bit about why she loves her job and how she helps clients achieve the goal of home ownership. Congratulations, Melissa for being our first Spotlight Realtor of the Month!
Why did you become a Realtor?
“After spending almost 10 years working in both sales and management for a homebuilder, I saw there was a need for a Realtor that specialized in helping international buyers understand the process of purchasing a new home. I reactivated my real estate license and partnered with an international real estate consulting company in March 2016. I have found success working with international buyers due to the level of detail I can provide in the new home process. I enjoy learning about their culture while working with them to accomplish their goal of owning a home in the U.S. The international buyers that I have worked with love the Cypress area and Bridgeland is always at the top of their list to visit!”
What is your top tip for buying a home? Selling a home?
“I encourage all buyers to make sure they partner with a Realtor that specializes in the type of home they are considering. For example, if a buyer wants to purchase new construction, they should have a Realtor by their side that understands the process and can ensure the journey goes smoothly. It’s all about understanding each other’s expectations and the right Realtor can make sure that happens between the buyer and homebuilder. Sellers need to remember that most buyers start their search online, so attractive pictures are the most important element in getting their home sold. The upfront effort to properly stage the home is well worth it. Keep an open mind! Be willing to box things up and move furniture pieces that may be cluttering the home. The goal is to be able to sell the home and move out, so consider this effort a head start!”
What is your favorite feature about Bridgeland?
“When I ask my clients this question, their response is ’We love to check out the Activity Center and find the amount of amenities offered to be very impressive.’ ” “The schools are also very important to my clients and they like the new multi-school campus.”
What is your most memorable moment as a Realtor?
“My most memorable moment is when I received a phone call from the president of a real estate consulting company asking me to be their exclusive local Realtor because of my experience. It is an honor to be trusted to help their clients find the right home and guide them on the journey to new home ownership.”
